Before you enquire

Questions, answered.

The practical details worth knowing before we head out, from aurora season to how your photographs are delivered. If your question isn't here, ask. I reply personally.

Enquiring

How we arrange your session.

How do I arrange a session?
Send me your dates through the enquiry form. I confirm availability and the details by email. For quick questions, WhatsApp works too.
How early should I get in touch?
The earlier, the better. Clear winter nights book up quickly. Travelling at short notice? Get in touch anyway. Slots open up.
How many people can come?
Every session is private and kept small, so everyone gets full attention and proper photographs. Up to six in a group; for more, ask.
Which languages do you work in?
English and German. If you'd prefer another, mention it when you write.
Are children welcome?
Families are welcome. Given the cold and the late hours, I'll go through what works best for younger children when you enquire.

The northern lights

What to expect, and how I work with the conditions.

When are the aurora at their best?
The season runs roughly September to March, when the nights are long and dark. Activity varies from night to night, so I track the forecast and head for the clearest skies. More on the northern lights
Can you guarantee we'll see them?
No one can. The aurora is a natural phenomenon and no two nights are alike. What I bring is local knowledge, dark-sky locations and live forecast tracking, for the best possible chance. And even on quiet nights, the Arctic landscape makes for strong photographs.
Do I need my own camera?
No. I photograph you under the lights with professional gear, and you receive the edited images. If you want to try yourself, bring any camera with a manual mode and a tripod, and I'll guide you through the settings on location.
Is my phone enough?
Newer phones manage a basic frame, but they struggle with fast-moving light. That is the point of working with a photographer: you leave with proper photographs of yourself under the lights, not a faint green blur. See northern lights photography

On the night

The cold, the meeting point, the weather.

How cold is it, and what should I wear?
Arctic nights fall well below freezing. Wear warm layers, a hat, gloves and insulated boots, and keep hands and feet warm above all.
Where do we meet?
In the Luleå–Boden region of Norrbotten. I confirm the exact spot once we know which location offers the best skies for your night.
The husky day, will you follow the sled?
Husky photography is built around the experience, not the trail. I photograph at the kennel, the harnessing, your departure and return, plus portraits of you and the dogs. I don't drive behind the team.
Do you fly a drone?
Only where conditions allow. When the weather, light and location permit, a few aerial frames can be part of the day; otherwise the work stays on the ground.
What if the weather turns?
Cloud and snow are part of the Arctic. I follow the forecast closely and we adapt, changing locations or, if needed, adjusting the plan. Night and aurora sessions can be moved to a better date at no charge.

Your photographs

What you receive, and how it reaches you.

How many photographs do I get?
A set of carefully edited images. The number depends on your package – around thirty for a photo session, 150+ for a full day. See the full breakdown on the prices page.
How soon will I have them?
Your edited gallery is delivered digitally, usually within a week. A few highlights are often ready the same day, so you have something to share straight away.
Can I share them online?
Yes. The images are yours for personal use. Commercial use can be arranged separately, just ask.
How are they delivered?
Through an online gallery you can download in full resolution.

Payment & cancellation

How payment works, and where you stand if plans change.

How do I pay, and is a deposit needed?
A 30% deposit secures your date, with the balance due on the day or before delivery. You'll have clear payment details in your confirmation.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Under Swedish consumer law you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal. There is an exception for leisure services booked for a set date, which a photography session usually is, so a confirmed booking may not be freely cancellable. Free cancellation up to seven days before; after that the deposit is retained. See the terms.
What if I need to change my date?
Plans change, and I'll be as flexible as I can. Get in touch as early as possible and we'll look at rescheduling. Weather reschedules for aurora and night sessions are always free.
What if you have to cancel?
If conditions ever make a session unsafe, I let you know as soon as I can and we reschedule or arrange a refund.
